Is there anything on the Huntress Horsemanship Method that I can check into prior to our June meeting? I've googled and not found anything and didn't know if there was something available?
Due to recurrent uveitis, my mare is in the process of losing the vision in her left eye, and I need to find a training method that will allow us to better bond and for us to trust each other better, because I plan on riding her even after she loses her vision. Is the Huntress Horsemanship Method one that would allow for these things to happen? Edited by User 5,398,342 on May 6, 2008 4:53 PM |

Stacie,
That is a great question. Huntress Horsemanships website is under construction right now, but there is a basic 5 page site up that has a bit of information on it. Thats Huntress Horsemanship.com. A book is being published. Caitlin Day Huntress is a contributer to All Experts. com, but I think it would be best to see what she could do for you and your horse in person. Bill from our group e-mailed me about an event that will be happening on the 17th. It is a free demonstration series that is at WoodVine Equestrian Centers Open House. There will be many trainers, including Caitlin Huntress. I'll get all of the information posted today on it. I'm definitely going. It's free, it's a beautiful looking ranch, and there will be great horsemanship there. You could speak to Caitlin before or after her demo about your situation. I do know that Natural Horsemanship is going to be the best avenue for you with your horse, and I believe that The Huntress Horsemanship Method and Caitlin in particular are the best you will find. If this event doesn't work for you, I'm sure there are some workshops and clinics out there that could be of help, too! |

Stacie-
I spoke to Caitlin yesterday about you and your mare. I think it would be great if you talked to her. One of her school horses is actually partially blind, and she worked her through that. Hope to see you soon! |
